Dogs - Keep Out! Photo

Photographer’s Note

Hello Everyone,

I don't usually have tme to post shots on a Monday, but with all other work complete, here goes!

This is a shot of a gate, or stile, onto the moors near Lancaster. I'm not quite sure why I like it so much, I just do!

The moorlands are very wild and windswept here, the sheep roam unhindered and this is the only sign which seems to speak of civilisation! DOGS KEEP OUT!

The sign is obviously for the protection of the sheep and their lambs but it seems such a wild and lonely place for someone to take their dog for a walk!

Bev, it is good because of the lines I thing, there are plenty of them and they are wonderfully slightly askew but fot the vertical post, I also think the moors must be a wonderful almost mystical place. I like it too.

I hope the dogs can read near Lancaster. :D. This gate could also be on the NY Moors; a gate that I have used many times. I like it too, although like you it is not easy to say why. The light and sharpness are perfect; also the clarity of detail in the wood. Your low POV is good too (a dog's eye view) I like the blurred view of the moorland through the gate. I guess there is heather; imagine the colour in August! Well done

Hi Bev,
You got some pretty smart dogs in the U.K. that can read signs, the questions is are they law abiding dogs?
I have a border collie and you would need a fence to keep him away from those sheep. Nice clear strong colors with excellent details to this warning sign.
