Photographer’s Note

Mirko D'Agostino & Arianna D'Amico are professional ballroom dancers from Italy, they've also won the Italian Open competition. Here they are performing the waltz for demonstration event in the national university dance competition - which I have also entered as a beginner.

This is perhaps my best dance shot so far ~ all comments welcome !

p.s. image quality, especially colour are very much degraded by the 200kb limit...grhh..

Yes,indeed a great dance shot you worked with a fine freezing,very well captured theme and composed the view in vertical format.full of romance and feeling and it gives a beautiful feeling to me,a good one,nicely done,great work,

All the aspects seem to click here. The space with appropriate grandeur for the event. Composition which gives room to different elements. Right timing on the spin. And appreciative spectators.
A pity about compression issues, I'm a bit surprised. This doesn't look like a picture that would suffere most badly of those. Usually they are nature shots with strong colours and lots of small details.

Hey Cheuk,

I like the 'theatrical' feel to it. The colour isn't that bad, actually has captured the mood of their performance. Nicely placed background, Arianna's face is spot on, both the dancer's feet in place, as you already mentioned your 'best dance shot so far', indeed I agree!

Hope did you place well in the amateur division ;)

Even if the quality of the picture has been degraded, this one is a wonderful picture. I love it.
Even if you don't like dancing you can enjoy this photo.
