Further to my theme of The Leeds to Liverpool Canal, this morning I am posting a shot of a section of a bridge over the canal. It may seem incomplete, but I just love the interaction of the curves, the zigzags, the diagonals and the uprights, alongside the shadows and the reflections.
This bridge is called a turnover bridge. Sometimes the towpath had to move from one side of the canal to the other. Turnover bridges allowed the towing horse to cross the canal without the tow line getting caught up in the bridge. The smooth curves of these bridges, like this one, often make them most attractive structures.
Many thanks for your visit.
I do hope you enjoyed it.
Please feel free to offer feedback on any aspect of the photograph.

A fine composition - the curve of the arch contrasts satisfyingly with the strong diagonals of the posts and rails.
The towpath leads us down to the canal, under the bridge and away alongside the sunlit water, with its reflections, and to who knows what beyond?

Bev, it is a nice grouping of lines. I think it tell a good part of this story by showing some of the details. The exposure is good and so is the color and focus, so I think it is a fine capture.

Excellent POV giving us a nice peek through the bridge to the canal below. Beautiful details to the old stone work. Clear crisp colors and sharpness to this lovely countryside image.

I like shots that make me want to go and look what is behind, and those of limited number of colours, your shot has both and I love the word ZIGZAG - in Czech we say CIK CAK (not pronounced with s , but ts) wich is the word you would really find helpful when comming in my country ;-)

A close framing that focuses the eye on the architecture details, in particular I like these white fences that deliver good highlights and enhance the luminous impression here.
Have a nice day JY

Such a good observation of this pov that you have captured to show the arch bridge and the abstract view from this angle. Nice note.
