Photographer’s Note

A small boy being fascinated as a Norfolk Line ferry pulls away from the quay at Dover. I can still remember being amazed by such things at that age, come to think of it, how on earth can such a big thing be powered around like that.

Hi Richard...saw this is the gallery earlier but was too rushed to come and leave my comment...

from the thumbnail, this looked like a rather dangerous situation! This might have been nice tilted a little to the right, which would also have tilted the boy a little further down, making it a little more dramatic...

nice to see your soft side once again...

Hi Richard, this is a really nice one, the boy looking down, trying to see what's going on. I think we can all recognize our own curiosity in the boy.
I think the picture could do witrh a bit more contrast, as he's standing next to the window.
Made a WS, just for the fun of it.

Simple yet engimatic frame, Richard. The contrast of the curious little boy against the severe lines and curves sets the stage for your perceptive note on his curiosity. Yes, I remember those curious days. Pity that institutions, schools mainly, work so hard to demolish that edifice of curiosity to replace it with bland sophistication.
