The famous cliffs of Dover in the early morning. We've been crossing the Channel from Calais to Dover on our way to Cornwall in 2006.

The white cliffs of Dover are cliffs which form part of the British coastline facing the Strait of Dover and France. The cliffs are part of the North Downs formation. The cliff face, which reaches up to 106 metres high, owes its striking façade to its composition of chalk (pure white calcium carbonate) accentuated by streaks of black flint. The cliffs spread east and west from the town of Dover in the county of Kent, an ancient and still important English port.

Hallo Hartmut! Die beruehmt-beruechtigten Klippen, was fuer ein Glucksfall sie so zu sehen, vom Schiff aus. Herrliches fruehes Morgenlicht, noch leicht milchig, das gibt einen tollen natuerlichen Filter. Ich mag das nicht viel hier, Wasser, Himmel, und "etwas" Land dazwischen. Tolles Foto ... schoenes Wochenende, hier hat es Nebel :))) Aber der Sommer kommt zurueck, schon bald ... Barbara.

This is a truly beautiful shot of the White cliffs of Dover! The light is absolutely sblime. One little minus, you sharpened a bit to much.

superbe vision de ces falaises de Douvre, en plus la lumière est magnifique.
Je trouve qu'il y a un peu d'espace vide, je poste un ws, en espérant qu'il te plaise.
Mais encore bravo à toi !!

Hello,

The lightning is really good and put originality on the picture by putting pink color of the cliff.
Moreover, the fog is giving a nice mystery and quiet ambiance, increased by the flat sea.
My only small concern is for the composition a bit to much centered. I would suggest a crop to place the cliff either on the top third vertical place or to play a panoramic crop.

It is a minimalist composition, and my eyes are drawn to it because of the light and colours. The pink light on the white cliffs and the reflected colour in the sea are superb.
