Orchard Bay Sunset Photo

Photographer’s Note

Here is another shot from Orchard Bay, this time just before the sun had set. The colours were nowhere near as strong as my previous upload but it was still beautiful to watch as the sun set to the Southwest.
This was processed from RAW unlike my previous shot that was an untouched Jpg!

I used an ND8 Graduated filter

Congratulations Jamie.
I like in this shot that you have still the sun present and clearly visible. Sometimes I am wondering if people use more than one grad filter to get this effect.
The wind was certainly very strong, if you got so much movement in one second.
Very inspiring work.

Awesome capture again Jamie,

I actually prefer this one to the previous unprocessed Jpeg as it's much sharper.
Nature can sometimes be a bit too overwhelming!

Hello Jamie,

I have had to look at this for several minutes.
I find it beautiful, creative, awe inspiring and mind blowing all at the same time.
Your work reminds me of a talented photographer on TN who does similar seascaps.

The colours are awesome, the composition excellent, the details sharp and the water has tremendous movement for a 'still' photograph. Well done!

This looks like a fine painting. The long exposure worked well here creating a nice effect on the moving surf as well as giving us outstanding DOF. The lighting and colors are great with excellent sharpness. Your composition is fine using the shoreline to lead the eye into the shot.
This is a great sunset shot taken at the perfect moment!

The light control here is superb, you got details from almost the entire scene and kept very nice colors as well. And probably to get this done you had your feet all wet :).

Perfect composition, Jamie. Great colors, too. I like what the the long exposure did to the waves. Only nit is the location of the sun, but, given the composition, you'd have to come at a different time of year for that to change, so I'll fogive you that.

Your images are really inspirational and make me go out and shoot more landscapes! Lovely colours and tones of this sunset in Orchard Bay. Good compo, contrast and just enough long time for a complete viewing pleasure!
