Photographer’s Note
Spring was showing itself today and with all the new leaves started to grow on the trees i decided to take my Nikon D50 and my Hoya Infrared filter out on a test run.
I took a walk through the Botanic Gardens in Ventnor to see if there was anything worthy of taking in IR.
I found a few photo spots but nothing to really put the camera and filter to the test as yet.
Please let me know if this would be better in Black and White rather than colour.
Thanks!

Hi Jamie,
very interesting view of the gardens. I like it a lot - I don't think that b&w would be better (but I must say that I rarely prefer b&w). The Hoya filter worked well here. Great shot!
Thanks and take care,
Linda

Hello Jamie,
A very interesting experiment.
The result reminds me of evenings in Blackpool when the illuminations changed the colours of the foliage to unnatural reds, purples and blues.
It is quite haunting yet, at the same time, deliciously exciting!
Superb shadows and a great lead-in line.
Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Hi Jamie
I love B&W photography and think this would look fantastic in B&W, however how you present it here is unique and by using your imagine and taking some risks you've pulled off a gem. There is a softness to the follage that I don't think you would achieve in B&W. TFS and being creative.
Cheers

Hi Jamie
very nice picture. The infrared filter gives an original composition. The black and the white would be more classic. You could try in workshop. Knowing your photos, I know that they will be made a success both.
Regards.
Olivier
