Photographer's Note

The weather down at Compton Bay Yesterday (14th October) was beautiful. I hadn't really planned this photo but as i was driving along thinking of where to go, i suddenly realised that it was almost low tide which meant the potential of low tide reflections. I checked Ventnor Bay out first but it didn't look quite how i would have liked so i drove across the island to Compton Bay and walked down the many many steps at the northern end of the Bay. At first i got a few shots with the clouds reflecting in the wet sand, but then i saw these beautiful clear pools of water with the clouds reflecting and some amazing ripples in the sand.

I used a polarizer to take out the glare of the clouds and to reduce some of the reflections in the water so that the sand ripples could be seen.
