Photographer's Note
Yesterday was the first decent storm we have had so far this year, so as the storm approached i drove to Ashey near Brading to try and capture the dramatic sky, and luckily we are at the time of year when the Oilseed rape fields are in full bloom and this added a bit of colour to the photo.
I used a lightning trigger to capture the lightning.
I also used an ND8 Graduated filter.

Good Morning Jamie,
We don't get many posts from you but when we do, they are memorable.
Apart from the fine, thirds composition you have captured the mood with absolute assurance. The lower layer of yellow rape makes a fine lead to the silhouetted horizon. Then there is the almost overpowering dynamism of the clouds, swirling menacingly. The lightning bolt is an amazing detail.
Have a lovely day and thanks for sharing this,
Bev :-)

Hi, Jamie,
Is it typical for England now??? It reminds me an American tornado. Superb capture! Outstanding composition with the pieceful flowers on the FG... Fantastic view of the storm. TFS!

Bonjour Jamie

Hi Jamie,
impressive storm indeed. Excellent work with the exposure and those Oilseed rape fields in the foreground. Don't know what a lightning trigger is but it surely did its job well!

Jamie
Amicalement
