Harbour Remains, Bembridge Photo

Photographer’s Note

I have been waiting since last summer for the sun to be far enough north to capture this shot!
I was lucky that i managed to capture it at all due to me being asleep all evening with a headache! I woke up at 8:45pm and looked out the window, suddenly i was fully awake because i could see a break in the clouds on the NW horizon, so in a total panic, i grabbed my gear, ran out the house, and jumped in the car.
I then realised the fuel light was on but i just kept going and hoped for the best!
Luckily i made it and got some lovely compositions with these old wooden stumps and stones which are the remains of a very small harbour from many years ago.

I used an ND8 Graduated filter

definitely worth the wait from last summer until now! what a great photo. did you photoshop it at all or is it just how it is? the color makes the picture very dramatic. very nice!

Well, it is worth waiting for! The ND filter works wonders and this goes for the photographer as well. Great PP work and good framing.

your picture has some beautiful cyan nuances. The view is amazing and I like the result of the use of long exposure. This is a masterpiece.

Excellent shot ! The composition is perfectly balanced. You caught a great light, with incredible colours. I love the way you included the stones in the foreground to guide our look. I love too the effect on the water. TFS.
