[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Taken today in overcast weather which is perfect for this type of shot. Sunlight can make it very difficult to obtain the long exposures that blur moving water without creating blown out areas of light where it falls.

Even dappled light, which looks lovely to the eye, creates a problem when trying to capture a scene using a long exposure. That was my experience a week ago when I first visited this location. The light looked great but was difficult to capture with an even exposure across the image.

The soft, even light of an overcast day (as it was today and why I made a point of coming back to this location and trying again) makes it a lot easier to obtain long, but even, well controlled exposures. This was taken with a polariser and two ND filters.

Best regards

Robin

Hi Robin,
I really like this shot. The softness of the water from the long exposure is attractive, and I like the framing of the dam creating quite an abstract result. I like the patterns in the water, and the lighting is quite nice.

hi, v nice composition and lighting. the exposure from the 15s is perfect, i also like the lines of the waterflow on both sides.

regards

Hello Robin,

Spectacular effect of long exposure while using filters but the place is very attractive in your scene too. I like repeating forms and rust colored mossy tops a lot with flow effect. A great capture, congratulations.

Very nice effect of long exposure. It looks like ND filter can be very useful tool.
I like the diagonal lines created by flowing water.
