Not the famous one in Washington, USA, but a large one on the seafront in Hayling Island, Hampshire, England. Seen here sandwiched between two blue beach huts on a rare sunny winter's day.

That's an impressive house, and it looks like its considerably bigger than its neighbours too! Nice bright white helps show this place off really well, and I am surprised I like it so much, as I normally don't like white buildings that much (most of the ones in Ireland look awful) . A great idea to sandwhich it between the beach huts like this, giving great depth and creating this houses very own entrance way, as befitting the president of the united states, or indeed the president of Hayling island.
Have a good Sunday

Almost a symetric shot, the 2 walls of the blue hut acting as a guide to let us see the unknown White house under a bright sunshine.
Have a sunny sunday

Fantastic composition. I like this blue colouring with the contrasting white house.

Excellent use of the beach huts to frame this attractive white house. I like the choice of the vertical frame and the splendid light and colours. Sharpness is very good indeed. Have a good Sunday, hope you are having similar weather to us, warm and sunny.

the sheds act as a fine frame for the white house in a well considered composition with good use made of the verticals to give the shot lots of depth.
Have a great Sunday,

Brilliant capture this based on the fantastic graphical layout and eye catching play of contrasting tones. All perfectly seen and composed as always! Taken with a great sense of perspective. Excellent pic!
Have a lovely day!

Hi Brian, great choice of point of view, the cabanes are like an open door to the white house, great idea and beautiful perpsective, and the usual professional work in PP to have bright colors and the best details everywhere.Have a nice Sunday and thanks,Luciano

Like your title and note :).
Very effective framing with the beach huts , the viewers have no other option but to look at the house in the BG. The house may not be as famous as its US counterpart but its definitely looking nice bathed in the warm light and under the cloudy sky. A well thought out and well composed image with nice light, colours and good clarity.

eye-catching and creative idea to use these beach huts walls to lead our eyes towards the white house and to create such great depth of the image.
And in this case the white facade of the building contrasts beautifully with dominating blue shades of the walls and the sky.
Have a nice sunday

excellent choix du POV, une riche idée! Les bleus magnifiques sont mis en valeur par la couleur de l'herbe sèche et le blanc de la maison. Bien vu!

Hello Brian - The focus is squarely on the white house as it stands framed between the blue walls and deep blue sky. The contrast works very well here and yur PP work has resulted in a strong, punchy image.
ourania (30937) 2014-03-09 9:24
this is a wonderful composition with both graphical and natural interest. I like very much how you used the sides of the huts as a frame and that they are not perfectly symmetrical. The shadow of the hut on the right adds to the original framing. The brightness of the white house is exquisite and the warm tones and rough textures on the ground make a superb complement in this austere and dynamic composition. Your light management is superb, you have created a very rewarding study on colour. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a great evening,

Very nice idea, it creates a tunnel effect, i like dark walls and as contrast the white building, I like the apt title too

Hard to be original in our comments to your brilliant shots of beach cabins
Never fed up of these

Un très bon cadrage, j'aime beaucoup l'idée de la vue sur la maison blanche entre les deux parois.
willperrett (6968) 2014-03-09 12:24
Impressive composition. I can see that my 24mm just isn't quite wide enough! Polarizer, deliberate one stop under-exposure or enthusiastic post-processing??

A perfect lecture for "how a good pov should be" !
Very nice capture.
TFS and best regards

Les deux cabanes de plage donnent un bel effet de relief à l'image. Bonne composition et beau travail sur l'exposition et les couleurs.

An original view of the white house. The contrasts are perfect. Well taken!

Great framing. The house looks magnificent in this foreground.
The clouds are menacing, aren't they?
kasianowak (6373) 2014-03-10 2:04
Lovely and well-lit view beautifully framed by your favourite subject - the beach huts. The shadow of the hut on the right leads the eye to the white house.
Have a nice day
tyro (20404) 2014-03-10 4:55
This is a delightful photograph, the beautiful white house perfectly framed between the dark walls of two beach huts and statnding resplendent in bright sunshine against a much darker and moody sky.
The lines of the bases and roofs of the huts lead the eye perfectly through their strong perspective toward the distant house to make for a very pleasing composition. The lighting is glorious and, despite the strong contrasts, we can see detail in the deepest shadows and also in the brightest parts of the image. Spot-on exposure and exquisite depth of field and sharpness throughout.
annjackman (19531) 2014-03-10 9:07
I wouldn't have thought of taking this as it must be hard to get it all in focus but you certainly managed it well. The shiny blue paint of the huts and the leading lines formed by the edge of the boards make a dramatic FG, and frame the white house magnificently. I love the sky and how it is so much darker at the top giving balance to the composition.
Kind Regards, Ann

This picture pleased me a lot too!
All the elements were placed so harmoniously in the frame: a very attractive and pleasant composition!
Colors, exposure and vertical format are other highlights here!
TFS - congrats,
