Looking up

| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
Westonbirt Arboretum - along the Spring Trail in the old arboretum. In this shot is dying bamboo and a partially cloudy sky.
I know dying bamboo doesn't feel so spring like... nor the black and white looks like a spring time photo... nor does it look like your typical westonbirt photo... But I liked it. :D
Things are indeed looking up for me :) I just wanted to say a little thank you to everyone I've learnt from on this site. I have been offered a place on a course I applied for; a bachelors degree in Photography starting in September! So I am feeling quite pleased with myself at the moment.
Have a beautiful weekend!

Leilani,
I like the sheer drama of this shot, probably created from very little in reality. It's a good thing, I'd say, to compose unusual, untypical shots from a location. For sure, no-one would ever guess this was Westonbirt. I visited there myself pretty recently, but was having one of those days where I walk around carrying camera and tripod all day, but never actually take a photo. Sometimes my eye/mind/camera combination just doesnt click in!
Regards
colin
ps. good luck with the course.
Hi Leilani,
What an interesting perspective, good light managment, good contrast..
have a good weekend

Hi Leilani,
I like the feeling of disorientation in this picture and the strong sense of movement created by the rushing lines of the bamboo. It’s as though we have fallen to earth and are gazing up at the sky. The hole in the clouds is perfectly positioned, drawing us into it. Very creative.
Congratulations on your course.
John
Dear Leilani,
first congratulations on your course, looking forward to your soon to follow creations :-)
I like this a lot. It's very creative, with a slightly disorientating effect that is very dynamic, it's something we should do more, lying in the grass, on the earth and looking up, it's so beautiful from down there! Good choice of b/w.
TFS, Kind regards
Michèle
Hey There Photographer! I just happened to look at this and saw it was you - nice shot and congrats on the course! You clearly have a passion for this photography thing. I have been published a couple of times since we last spoke, but enough about me - this picture looks good - why not a portrait comp though? It's very disorientating, but if that was your objective then brava! Two points anyway for getting on the course! Best wishes, TW
