This is another photo from Lower Wood. Lower Wood is a fragment of typical ancient woodland with flourishing populations of woodland flora. I especially love teh way the tree trunk disappears into the green and pops back out again. There is teh absence of Bluebells in this picture which was the objective of the day, but I just had to get this one.

Graeme,
Interesting shot. I always think that this type of shot has to have good, quality, detail to make it work - fortunately this one has :) Generally I like it, although I don't think that soft focus of the foreground trunk works for the shot so, perhaps another angle of composition might have been better.

Graeme,
I like this one mate. The richly colored and detailed pattern of green leaves is great but made better by including the tree as context. (One tiny nitpick is to watch the focus on the nearest subjects like that bit of log in the left corner. If you're too close they can blur but this one is not diminished by it to my eye.)
I also see you have attracted the attention of Colin Hieatt. He's really good. Check out his gallery.
Cheers!
