Just a snap I took while enjoying a walk through the arboretum. I went there to get rid of the birthday blues. Another year older and all that jazz.
Westonbirt, The National Arboretum is one of the most spectacular tree gardens in the world. An historical collection of over 3,000 different trees and shrub species many of which are rare or endangered in their native lands. Covering six hundred acres, the arboretum is an inspiring place to relax, get back to nature and indulge your senses...

Hey there,
Nice photo of the purple flowers. Something different to have them in focus and the rest of the scene out a bit. Draws attention to them.
Cheers,
Dave
Hi Leilani,
I like this approach and I think you might be able to widen the aperture even more. FYI, this Saturday is supposed to be mostly overcast with only about 20% chance of rain so it should make for perfect light for shots like this. I'm just hoping that we don't have any crazy English wind :)
Cheers!
Bob G.
Hi Leilani, I suffer with birthday blues myself, turned 51 last week - but you're still a baby :-) You shouldn't be worrying about things like that!
Delightful shot with a lovely light.
Happy birthday & best wishes, Roberto
A lot to like in this, Leilani.
The bluebells (the native species, not the Spanish intruders?) are sharp and perfect colour emphasised by the scatter of white flowers behind and in front of them. Then the sharp bronze leaves and the sunlit mossy treetrunk give a warm frame to the mysterious depths of the 'forest'. Lovely.
Many happy returns!
Winifred
