Photographer’s Note

No Points please!
With sadness, I have heard of Marek, "Gustaw" passing away on December 29th, too early at the age of 43! I have been through his rich gallery, and know that he photographed a lot of religious places, including cemeteries. He must have seen his end coming; but on the other hand, I think TE must have been a very good friend; right to the last days, he was posting critiques.
In relation to his gallery, I thought of posting a beautiful cathedral in his memory! May he rest in peace, and may his gallery remain alive after his death! For us, his photos will be his Life after Death!
And thank you to the person who warned us about this sad event in the forums and in his intro!

Gloucester Cathedral was built from the 11th to the 15th century. That's why you can see a Romanesque base above which some Gothic style architecture was added.
In WS, I am adding 2 more photos of the inside of this beautiful cathedral!

En realidad es triste la noticia de la partida de Gustaw. Es la vida con sus llegadas y partidas.
Buena captura que nos muestra la riqueza de los detalles interiores arquitectonicos de esa historica edificación. Los colores y contrastes están bonitos. La luz adentra por las ventanillas superiores forman un grafismo atractivo. Bien hecho. Saludos, Consuelo

A good thought (for Marek) and a good photo. A unusual composition where our attention is brought to the series of arches and their architectural details, and yet we have a good sense of height. The external/internal lights gave you warm colours.

J'aime beaucoup ce genre de perspective. La netteté n'est pas la meilleure, mais c'est quand même admirable en considérant la situation de lumière difficile. L'exposition et couleurs sont très bien.
C'est une belle hommage à Marek, comme tu écris, il postais beaucoup de photos d'endroits religieux.

Ne fréquentant que très rarement, peut-être à tort, le forum, j'apprends par ton intermédiaire une bien triste nouvelle, j'ai correspondu photograhiquement avec lui et tu lui rends ici un bien bel hommage en lui dédiant cette intéressante série de photos sur cette cathédrale car, c'est vrai, certaines des ses dernières photos étaient axées sur édifices ou statues religieuses. Merci pour lui Marie-Louise.

Fine details in the interior and the strong diagonal adds dynamics!
Warm colour palette in the artificial light, contrasting well with the daylit roof...
I think the framing works well, my only minor suggestion is to include a bit of floor for reference!?

J'aime bien celle-ci, trés bonne lumière dans le haut, mais peut-être un légr manque de netteté, surtout dans le bas de l'image.

Ce doux mélange de teintes chaudes et froides sied bien à l'architecture "envoutante" de la cathédrale!
Il n'y manque que l'odeur d'encens et l'écho de 8 secondes comme à Chatres!
Image réconfortante à souhait.
