Rowing boats on the River Stour at Dedham on the Essex -Suffolk border. The river is in fact the border between the two counties. This is also "Constable country" where the famous artist painted many of his most well known works. He was born in East Bergholt on the Suffolk side of the river Stour about 1 mile from Dedham.
I took this in the afternoon in early March .I liked the lighting on the varnish of the boats.

You can row from Dedham to Flatford ,another famous Constable beauty spot .

Hi Simon, I love the composition & light in this photo, you have created a nice view across the boats & utilized the hanging branches very well, TFS a really pleasant & peaceful picture, kind regards Wilson.

Hello, I like very much the idea and I am very touched by this wonderful light that is on the boat. However, a crop would enhance the beauty of that picture. Maybe you can check the last picture of devimeuxbe, which can give you another view of suhc a subject.Geraldine

Hello Simon,

A fine composition, with the low sunlight reflecting off the newly varnished boats.

It's good to see that fibreglass has not taken over entirely from these traditional clinker built wooden boats.

Perhaps this would make a good B&W image as well.

Regards,

Peter.
