[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
When in England last I had the chance to go flying in a small 4 seat Cessna. We went from Southend Airport up the East Anglia coast to Norwich and back. I'm not sure where this was but I belive it was the River Stour or possibly Blackwater around Mersea Island. Maybe Tim Wheeler could help me out.

Hi Phil. Excellent capture. This is a wonderful blend of colours patterns and textures. Well seen and captured. Thanks for sharing.
Cheers, Paul.

Hi Phil,
Very good shot, beautiful composition and amazing lighting. Well done.
Best wishes.
Ahmet

Hello Phil,

This area is huge. By looking at the boats I get an idea of the size of the river. Its capture from this high point is very effective to give us a glimpse of what this place look like. The warm colours of the daylight give the water a nice orange tinge. Nice work.

Roberto

Hi Phil

Hello Phil,

You were very fortunate to have been on this flight and had your camera with you. The water looks superb from this vantage point. The scattering of yachts is very well arranged - it is the only thing that can help me determine altitude (perhaps 1,000ft?). The wake of some of the vessels suggests they are moving; either that or there is a strong current passing them. I hope you have more shots to share from this flight. As a bit of an experiment, I would add further saturation to enhance the orange glow and more contrast to sharply define the land.

Hi Phil,
Beautiful view over the river from an excellent POV - of course! The golden, warm tone that the light adds to the water is wonderful and a great contrast to the darker parts on the sides of the photo. All these boats are a nice detail. Great work and thanks for sharing!
Regards,
Lars

Phil,
nice to see that you're also taking a break from your account work to give us some visual delight such this one here with a very high and unstable POV ;-)
The golden light in the water with the boat silhouttes coming out of the channel makes a very nice image.
Peter

Hi, Phil -

Not Sure is a lovely part of England, for sure!

Nice monochrome shot.

Dan

Hello Phil,
Can't help for the location, sorry.
Usually plane photos have a blurred effect because of the window, but you've had the chance to be in that non commercial plane.
The reflection on the river is colourful and all those boats give a proper dimension to the picture

Phil the early or late in the day lighting here adds to the pure beauty of being up here. Love the reflection in the water as the boats cut through the sea. Excellent capture Phil!

Hi Phil,
Great view of this immense river delta and it many tributaries bathed in the rich golden late day light. The many boats lend wonderful sale and definition and the wetland around the banks of the river are very well seen.
Regards, Tom

Hey Phil, I see a barge in the background there so it's got to be close to me. If it's not one of the rivers you mention, it could Deben or the Crouch. I don't think it's near me because I see what looks like sand on the banks - we only have mud down here!!

Anyway, a beautiful shot wherever it is.

Thanks Phil.

Regards, TW

LOL. Ha, ha. Location. Not sure!! Honest at least Phil. Very good light with the sun shimmering on the water and the tiny sail boats to give some detail.

Hi Phil!
Very nice and intersting composition. I like this POV, the orange-gold colors and the little boats on the water. I think it is very exciting to fly on a small airplane.
