[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The Royal Hotel, New Street, Brightlingsea was built by Fred Miller, a brewer, and opened in 1887; closed in 1950. It still stands in all its glory thanks to some new tenants who have kindly given it the tlc it deserves. It's a nice piece of Victorian architecture that holds many memories within its many walls.

Thanks for looking,

TW

hi tim,
very interesting picture. i like the combo. is there any special effect during the execution? somehow your photo here is look so different.
well seen!

Hi Tim,
what an excellent photo! I like composition a lot and the effect you managed to apply to the sky. Rough shadows create an impression this is not a real building but a mere toy, while the b/w mode makes the scene look even more surrealistic. By the way, your photo reminded me one episode from the X-Files series - "Audrey Pauley" (season 9). If you watched it, you would probably get an idea why I liked you photo :)
Anton

The POV is excellent because the clouds compliment the shape of the building. Very well seen indeed. How did you get the building so sharp and the vehicles blurred. Was it selective Gaussian blur?

Hi Tim

This is very interesing photograph! Great idea with B&W. Very interesting note as well.
All the best!
Matt

Hi Tim - I love the sky and think it looks great added to the shot, really striking. However, my personal preference is not to have added the blur on the lower bit of the shot. i.e. the building, van etc. Maybe to also try and get the shot without the van in front of the building. But now I'm just being picky. :) Rgds, Leilani
