[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Just some rocks at St. Osyth beach on a chilly and blustery October afternoon while I was fishing for whiting. The rocks were put there a few years ago to act as a defence to stop the beaches from washing away.

There are a couple of exposures here and the rocks are lit with a flash so you can see the texture in them. Not particularly amazing, but the sky turned out alright and there aren't many pictures of St. Osyth on here!

Thanks for looking,

TW

Hi,
I like your technique to bring out the foreground. Could be a bit 'livlier' with some contrast and sharpening but it does have the dark October chilly atmosphere. Thanks.
Dougie.

Good control of the light by using the flash to provide FG light while keeping the sky well exposed.

Hi Tim,
This is a nice composition with the foreground rocks and sky but I thought you could easily improve it a bit using Photoshop so I've done a workshop. Hope you like it!
Rather than using fill flash it might have been more effective to use a hard-step grad filter or take two different exposures and combine them in Photoshop.
Regards
John

Hi Tim, Both this and the workshop version are very good to see. A very good example of the foreground having interesting properties. TFS. Murray.
