Very good use of the strong lead-in lines of the pier here Chris; it really draws you into the image.
I like the fact that you kept the colours subtle, and weren't tempted to push the saturation too far, and the long shutter speed has blurred the water nicely.
It's a bit tilted to the left, as can be seen by looking closely at the horizon, but it's not enough to detract too much.
Excellent work, and a good first posting.

Cheers,
Ben

Hi Chis, fascinating composition with gereat colors, splendid perspective, very well done, have a nice week end, ciao Silvio

Hi Chris,

Welcome to TE. Pretty good start, colours and mood is pleasant. Those evening clouds add atmosphere.
I would have lowered camera just a bit in order to get all those support poles in the frame. In the same time horizon would have been in the upper third.
That's minor thing, though. Looking forward to your next photos.
Cheers!

Hi Chris,

Good choice of exposure setting, the sea looks so soft but the hard lines of the posts and piers stand out so well. Excellent shot, TFS

Fara

Welcome to TE Chris!

Great shot to start you off with. The longer exposure has given you a nice smooth result with the water. Great colors left in the sky.
I've posted a workshop with a couple suggestions...

Cheers!

Welcome Chris,a lovely shot. The composition is good with excellent perspective. The vertical and horizontal lines are a good contrast to the texture that you have achieved of the sea.The moon adds to the scene.
TFS, regards Jean.

Very good point of view, nice moment at sunset, the 7 sec. exposure make the water looks like sky.

Greetings

Hi Chris,

welcome to TE. This post is definitely a great start. I like the perspective of the pier and the smooth water, due to the use of the long exposure. Once more a great composition. Congratulations!

Carlos

beautifull scene, good colors and contrast

Wonderful POV, beautiful colors, excellent presentation of calmness and peace. I love successful photos taken with long exposure and including the moon here is a real jewel.
Great job.
Best regards,
Gordana

Chris, I loved the smoothness of the picture while all aspects seem very sharp. The small cabin did a lot to add some to your colors and the depth of field is excellent. Well done. Alp
