Constable Country

I've decided to go a little further afield. Today I ventured out of Brightlingsea to historic Dedham in East Anglia.
Dedham and Flatford, in Essex, were among the favourite spots for several 18th Century British landscape artists including John Constable. In many ways, this area is the epitome of the rural south England countryside.
Of course, this shot was taken today in the darkness of December. Nonetheless, the beauty is apparent and this part of the river stour feeds watermills as well as the imaginations of all kinds of artists, including mine.
I used three filters on the camera for this: ND8, ND4 and an ND Grad. These help soften the water and let me get more of what was otherwise a pretty grim English December sky. I tweaked it a little in PS7 and did a hardlight blend on both sharp and softened final layers (thanks Dyerco!).
Thanks for looking and thanks to all for their inspiration (that includes Trek Earth members as well as John Constable!)
Best wishes,

Well this is a nice tribute to Mr. Constable. You have captured the sky well and still have some detail in the FG. I really like the light on the tree which in itself is well placed in the scene.
Well seem Tim and I think it deserves better than 4 points.
