On the Water, at Dedham,
The River Stour provides a fantastic opportunity
for canoeing, being navigable from Sudbury to
Cattawade and offering a host of landing stages
along the way. Enjoy a lazy picnic lunch on the
water, or visit one of the welcoming village pubs.
Canoeists must be in possession of a licence from
the Environment Agency, or be a current member
of the British Canoe Union. Environment Agency.
Alternatively, why not enjoy a lazy afternoon
basking on the river in one of the many rowing
boats available for hire? Boats can be hired either from Flatford or Dedham. If you’d prefer someone
else to do the hard work so you can unwind and
take in the scenery, the River Stour Trust run an
electric boat – The Stour Trusty II, offering trips
from Flatford. For the more adventurous, one
and two day guided Canadian canoe trips can be
booked with River Stour Boating.

What is a cow doing in the middle of this touristic scenery, LOL? This is precious, just precious!

Hello IAin ,
This is a pleasant place , no doubt . Funny to see the cow in the FG . But this one is overexposed . It is always a problem with the white or black animals or object . To avoid the problem , you have to make the focus on the cow , or to correct the exposure of =2/3 .

Very amusing with this cow totally out of context, somebody's idea of a joke! Good capture with excellent lights and colours. Not Dedham, as Constable might have known it!
Warm and sunny here today.

Not really ?? A cow in this place? Maybe I have an illussion or something, Iain.
Anyway, had a smile when opened this thumbnail.
Nice view along the canal with boat anchored juxtapositioned.
lavish green all around, even on the water surface some water-plants growing.
Have a nice weekend,

I understand that the meadows reach unto the water. So while rowing down the river, you are close to the livestock.
Excellently composed and beautiful natural colours.
Best regards, Paul
