This shot was taken on a visit to Colchester Zoo today. They are both Macaws - large, tropical American parrots - the one on the right is a Blue-and-yellow Macaw, but I'm not sure what the one on the left is, although he looks like he could do with a bit of an overhaul!
Macaws can live up to 50 years in captivity.
They feed on nuts, fruit, seeds and berries. |

The red one looks like he's been in a fight!. :) It's an excellent quality image with great detail captured in the molting feathers.
