Shire Finery

| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
Shire horses seem to split into two distinct categories these days - according to the owner of these beauties.
Firstly, you have horses like these that earn a living. Today, these horses are used to pull carriages carrying brides-to-be to the church and to take tourists on tranquil rides down memory lane.
Secondly, there are the glamour-puss horses. Perfect in every way, they lead pampered lives only to go on show at the spring and summer fetes and county shows.
I can't tell the difference. They all look amazing to me. These guys seem like best mates. A well matched pair used to pulling a serious load.
I've done very little to this shot apart from a small crop and sharpening. I know the sky's bright - but it was on that particular day and an ND grad filter wasn't really an option with the shape of the horses.
Hope you like. |

Hello Paul -
A very nice portrait. I do like the lower POV and you had a nice sky and a background to work with. Well done.
Thank you for sharing.

Hi Paul,
Fine horses indeed. Maybe I have to post also the pictures of horses I did in San Diego, California.

Hi St. Paul,
I admire the sharpness and details in this photo. The horses really look glamorous. I don't know if I can approach them so close to take their photos. I find horses both lovely and scary. I don't know why!
