Photographer’s Note
A couple of fisherman wait for the tips of thier rods to bump, indicating a bite from either an eel or a bass, or perhaps a late summer flounder at the popular fishing spot next to Bateman's Tower in Brightlingsea.
A fisherman myself, one of my favourite proverbs, taught me by my old boss from a Chinese restuarant I used to work in as a lad comes from Buddha. And he says, "Buddha does not take time from your life when you fish" (or words to that effect). I think that's a good philosophy and a great reason to fish and stay young.
Thanks for looking, and reading.

Tim,
Brilliant crop and composition. Without the blurr of the ship would have made this photo conventional. The blurr adds a motion to the calmness of scene.

Hi Tim,
I've always admired B&W photography, when there is a high contrast or drama to emphasize, or when there is wit and a thoughtful daily life scenery inside.
For me, this one is a well thought and observed, clever daily life scene.
"Two lazy fishermen, and the big fish is gone..." :)
The only compositional flaw, imho, is the juxtapositioning of the sign and the ship. Otherwise, really a clever photo you have.
For the presentation, i would prefer to add cinemascope black frames at the top and bottom, but this is only a matter of taste.

A clever shot Tim. I'm surprised the fishermen did not move as you must have had the shutter open for a while to catch the motion of the freighter. Well done.

I recognize the post sign already present on the previous picture.
Very smart picture, congratulations.
