Rhododendron shrubs caught in the autumn sunlight at Sheffield Park, East Sussex, England. These shrubs grow abundantly in the gardens here and are best seen in the spring when covered in showy blooms. At this time of the year they are almost leafless but wonderfully contorted shapes and glorious examples of nature's sculptures.

Great capture of the nature's sculptures. I like the carpet of autumn leaves and the sun shining through the branches. Well done!
Have a nice Sunday.

As soon as I opened this. It made me think of the movie Pans Labyrinth, the contorted shapes of the trees look quite like the cover and because of that instill in me a mood similar to that I got when watching that dark and beautiful film. The shadows these contortions throw we fascinating in their own right, then up above the colors speckled through the greens is like a rainbow. What makes this extra special for me is the perfect star rust of the sun peeping through the branches, off setting the mildly spooky feeling below. A ver strange and very beautiful scene.
I know if I look hard I an see many twisted monsters in the shapes of these trees. very cool picture, as always, thanks for sharing.all the best

I feel like I'm having a scary, but fun-filled dream looking at this maze of light and shade....my eyes don't know which aspect to focus on or follow. :) Being traumatized in my youth from the movie Poltergeist, any time I see a tree with long reaching branches like this makes me think some kid is about to get snatched away...and then you couple that with the "times 2" effect from its shadows, and you have yourself one creepy image floating through your mind. Then again, maybe it's just me!?
This is a cracker of a shot though, I'm surprised it hasn't received more feedback ahead of me. Love the rich colors, the red/green/blue is always a winning combo. And just for good measure, the starburst effect from the sun gives it that additional dynamic element. Indeed, nature has put on a great show here, and you've captured it wonderfully! Hope you had a fun day in the sand soaking up the sunny skies. Have a good one. Take it easy.
Cheers from beach-less Feenix,
On a side note, the pyramid hotel/casino you were thinking of is The Luxor. It's "Sky Beam" light that shoots up from the top of the pyramid is said to be visible from space.

Ces troncs aux formes torturées t'ont permis de réaliser une image très graphique rendue encore plus attractive par les couleurs de l'ensemble.

Hello Brian - Bent and twisted, the limbs of the shrubs trace attractive squiggly lines throughout the frame. The back-light has provided you with some attractive shadows across the leaf litter. An unusual shot with noteworthy colour.

The twisted branches of these rhododendron bushes have made a very interesting subject especially with the lovely light and shadows. Gorgeous colours and a very well thought out composition.
Kind Regards, Ann
