Taken just as the sun rose above the horizon on the beach at Pett Level in East Sussex, England. The weathered old post of a long gone groyne looking like the head of a strange beast that has a twinkle in its eye.

Hi Brian. Very creative today with the face with the drooping nose, large forehead and red eyelashes. An imaginative take on a sunset. Regards. Klaudio.

You are right - it looks like and eye with long eyelashes made of sunrays! I like the idea, you have an eye for creative compositions like this. The colours of sunrise are very beautiful.
Have a nice day

You were evidently wide awake at this unearthly hour whilst most people were tucked up in bed:-) A cleverly constructed composition with superb light and colours. An image exuding atmosphere.

Wow, you were up early to catch this super sunrise and through a hole in this old groyne.
Wonderful light, and mood.
Ten out of ten for,
Up with the birds,
Wide awake, and spotting an unusual view point of the rising sun.

Très beau lever de soleil avec de superbes couleurs à l'horizon. Même les rayons traversent le trou de cet arbre. Bien fait.

Une jolie idée et une belle réalisation. Bel effet créé par les rayons du soleil.

The thumbnail doesn't do this justice and it was a pleasant surprise on opening to see the perfectly framed sun in a starburst pattern reflecting off the sides of the rotted pier pylon in the fg. Good sharpness and the receding lines of the shore add good dynamism and perspective. Tfs!

Howdy BD Cowboy,
Thanks for the laughs today, your note was awesome! Just for my own piece of mind, I have to say it....no, that would not be my choice of attire...it's not flamboyant enough! lol Kidding of course, I wouldn't be caught dead in that kind of get-up.
Anyway, on to this shot. I remember well a previous one in similar fashion, and this is just as pleasing. You grabbed that special moment when all of the elements align just proper...very much like the eclipse last night, this holds that same type of fleeting appeal. That squeezed aperture creates a stunning effect of the suns rays as they virtually appear to be clawing onto the peep hole. Hmmm, that may not be the best choice of terminology!? hehe
And with that, I had better wrap things up for the night before it gets out of hand. ;) Take it easy partner. All the best.
Cheers from the silly side,

What a good idea you had to try this composition! It's just perfect, with a great light management.
