Photographer’s Note

The British tend not to be a very outwardly patriotic nation. They prefer it with a small "p" I think. So I was quite amazed to see this enormous Union Jack flying proudly on the seafront at Eastbourne on a blustery summers day. The building in the foreground is the roof of the bandstand - scene of a pleasant afternoon concert.

Hello Roberto! Your photo is like a fresh summer breeze wonderfully presented with the flag fluttering in the wind. I agree ... as long as the p is kept small there is nothing against being a little proud of where we live. I love English seasides, your photo reminds me that I should return. Lovely fresh and sunny image. After reading your intro I start thinking about your remark about the outwardly non-patriotic nation you mentioned. I think that is not the way we think about Britain : - ))

This photo has an amazing composition considering diagonal lines of the building in the background emerging from the corner, the interesting curves of the bansted roof and the three vertical lines nicely arranged with the eye catching Union Jack, flying proudly. Great job. Another great image well worth presentable for the CCC competition.

Amazing blues and whites in this technically pristine
image, Roberto!
The compo with flagpole on the left and a part of the
funky building on the right is really interesting and
it was a great idea to do something like that.
