Photographer's Note
A view out to sea along the western side of Eastbourne Pier in East Sussex, England. The pier is Grade II listed and was restored extensively in 2003. On the day I visited it was being re-painted in its distinctive royal blue and white livery.

What a pleasing view ! And place . The picture is pefectly framed and composed . I like especially the effect of the different nuancess of the wooden boards , and the contrast with the blue tonalities .

Hello Brian,as usual your composition is just right, the slanting floor and the railings giving the shot a nice perspective, with the blue and white colour contrast making an eye catching shot.
All the best Les.

Hello Brian
your not a bad shutterbug yourself! Great lines and composition. The line of the lights symmetrically mirror the line of the fence and together they kind of act like a natural line to a focal point somewhere around the corner and create compositional balance at the same time by starting about a third of the way up and down the image to structure it. So... clever composition that is balanced. Nice colours too with the blues complemeting each other well.
TFS - enjoy your day.

Hello Brian,
Those colours are very distinctive and harmonise and work well with the blue of the sky and the white of the paintwork - a bit on the Santorini style!
Your viewpoint uses the elements well as they converge, in a fine display of perspective and guide lines. As always, your composition, colour saturation and sharpness leave nothing to be desired.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Brian
marine wood floor, classic with the geometry of the staves of old vessels.
The paint in the navy his smell before the color.
The photo expresses all these traditional meanings.
Royal Marine, played masterfully in the tradition of the pier grade II and his fabulous Hotel.

Hello Brian,
Interesting subject (I wish there would be piers here too in the St. Lawrence, but perhaps hardly possible due to sea ice combined with large tides), very pleasantly composed (e.g. the railing and wall guiding the eye into the photo), and charming saturated colours (nice to read they are distinctive for this given pier). No idea what "grade II" is, but I guess it means that it deserves to be well maintained.

Hello Brian,
A very pleasingly composed picture which bears all your hallmarks of well considered composition, vibrant colours, good contrasts and exquisite technique.
The lines of the railings, lampposts and their shadows draw the viewer into the picture toward the horizon and the part of the building we can see on the left is perfectly placed.
Excellent!
Kind Regards,
John.

Hi Brian
Its hard to keep up with all your photos! You're posting all the time now :)
I chose this one because it has your signature blues, its undoubtably Brian!
what makes the photo stand out for me though, are the clouds and the high sky.
it adds an attractive dramatic visual for the viewer.
nice work as always!
cheers
