The Royal Pavilion

"The Royal Pavilion has a colourful history stretching back over 200 years.Built as the seaside pleasure palace for King George IV, it has also served as a civic building, First World War hospital, and is now a true icon of Brighton"
(Royal Pavilion website)

There is a very interesting history as to how this came to be built, check out 'brightonmuseums.org.uk/royalpavilion

We paid to go around the interior of the pavilion and the lavishness of the design and decor is still amazing after all this time.
When many of the population of the time would have been living in squalid surroundings, the amount of money that must have been spent here is truly incredible!

Not an easy point of view to get all the frontage of the building in shot;plus the sky was very grey, there was a sea fret obscuring the horizon that day!

Thanks for looking.
