A view along Brighton beach. People strolling towards the Palace Pier on an overcast Thursday just before the start of summer. (The pier did have its lights lit up but they are not very visible in this image at this distance.)
"The pier had signs reading "Brighton Pier" attached to it in 2000, although this change is not recognised by the National Piers Society or many of the residents of Brighton and Hove. The local newspaper, The Argus, still generally refers to the structure as the Palace Pier."
Brighton's beach is a shingle beach at high tide with a flat sandy foreshore at low water.

Excellent depth and perspective on this shot. Nice composition to include the strollers in the FG, they give us a good sense of scale. The beach makes good contrast with the sea and the overcast sky.
An attractive shot and thanks for sharing.

This is a kind of make or break-composition. The diagonal of the shoreline meeting the horizontal line of the pier is one element that could make a good composition, the balance of brown against grey is another, but what really makes this composition are the people walking along the shore. One couple near the camera and some more people further away give life and depth to the view, and in the case of the nearest ones also colours.

A beautiful place with the shoreline stretching from left to beyond, leading us into your photo. The sense of space is wonderful here owing to your POV, a great depth of field and the dark cloudy sky. The texture of the pebbles comes out beautifully and enhances the perspective. The people walking on the beach invite the viewer in and contribute to the quiet, peaceful atmosphere of this picture. A very attractive composition.

Beautiful and pleasant-looking picture! Although it conveys a certain feeling of loneliness and melancholy!
Sharpness, exposure, colors, depth, chosen pov and composition are all excellent!
TFS - congrats,

Hello Trevor - I like out-of-season seaside shots and this one captures the mood that appeals to me. Soft light and dull colours and the strong compositional lines are beautiful in detail. The addition of the strolling couples adds to the mood especially as they are peppered through the shot giving a feeling of isolation. A pleasure to see this poetic presentation. Warm regards Rosemary
