Photographer's Note
The fascinating symmetry of The Madeira Terrace and Walk that graces the eastern part of The City of Brighton seafront in East Sussex, England. Adorned with alternate figurines of the Gods Neptune and Aphrodite, the cast iron latticed arches that screen the walk run along its entire 865 meter length. Providing shelter from the elements that can batter this coastal City, it was constructed in the 1830's and both Terrace and Walk are Grade II listed buildings.

Hi Brian
this is a unique photo for sure.
the color alone is something we don't get to see very often, the cayan's and turquoise.
looking closely at the scene, i also like the roots, a nice touch.
as are the steps underneath the arch on the right, giving some overlap.
nice shot
cheers

Hi Brian!
Charming details!
Lovely and beautiful picture!
Sharpness, exposure, colors, horizontal format and composition really pleased me!
Shouldn't it be "The Ferro Terrace and Walk"? Madeira in portuguese means wood... just kidding!
Cheers,
Neyvan

Hello Brian, thoughtful composition has captured the symmetry of the scene perfectly, the quality of the light also has a very pleasing effect, not a shot that one would associate with Brighton, more like Marrakesh..
Lovely shot.

Hello Brian - The cast iron work pictured here is very attractive and photographed with your usual attention to fine detail. Personally, I love the roots and vegetation under the walkway, it is so beautifully lit and the colours make a great contrast to the brighter turquoise of the terrace. Super work. Have a great week. Certainly not a scene I'd expect to see anywhere in the UK, Brian - a very Spanish or North African feel to this. Very well exposed - you've brought out some great definition and vivid colors in the shaded underside of the promenade here. Very nice framing and presentation rounds this out into a compelling capture. Thanks for sharing it!

Hello Brian,
I find this fascinating not just for the cast iron arches but also for the bushes and roots growing in the shade. Lovely light and harmonious colours. Very well done.

Hi Bryan,
A very much appealing capture of this beautiful terrace! The symmetry bringing relaxedness to the viewing process and inviting the eye to leisurely examine all that finely rendered architectural and natural detail. And it's always lovely to see such well maintained early Victorian cast iron engineering.
Best regards from Rotterdam,
Bert
