Photographer’s Note
Snow rarely lasts long in the South of England and, three days after the heaviest falls in over a decade, it was evident that he cold snap was over.
The snow had been so deep, however, that it offered the first opportunity in a long, long time for children of all ages to get out and build some significant snowmen. Once the thaw set in, parks, like this one to the north of Brighton, became something of a wasteland, a battleground for fallen icy comrades.
