A loving tribute on the foreground gravestone seemed the only fitting title to this sunset shot of St Andrew's Church at Beddingham in East Sussex, England. The church dates from Norman times with various modifications over time and the tower being added in the mid 1500's.

Hello neighbour ,
A glorious Sunset light for this amazing composition with the tombstones in the FG of the superb old Church .

The church is glowing in the setting sun. I love the light on the edges of the tombstones, they present eye catching contrast with the dark faces. Great composition, wonderful light, colors, clarity and sharpness. Thanks for sharing.

you have chosen a lovely view point taking full advantage of the golden evening light to give the shot a warm, atmospheric look.
The wind blown trees give a good indication of the exposed location.
A well spotted title!
All the best Les.

Fantastic sunset light and colour for this well composed image of St Andrew's church. The light highlighting the edges of the gravestones and skimming the tops of the grass tufts adds texture and depth to the image.

An excellent composition made all the more so by the superb control over depth of field. The serried ranks of gravestones are well placed on the diagonal and point the way toward the church. Beautiful sunset tones are nicely contrasted by the sky. The trees bending away from the wind make a fine frame and offer another point of interest.

J'aime beaucoup le point de vue comme couché entre les monuments. Tu mets d'ailleurs bien en évidence la première sur la gauche tout en gardant le focus sur cette superbe église qui jouit d'une luminosité sans pareille.

Great wide angle point of view and most of all a wonderful golden light. It creates a fantastic atmosphere.

A beautifully composed shot, where the gravestones act like sentinels, setting the scene and acting as guides to the church, which looks utterly stunning in the rich, low, evening light.
The trees are important; they are a backstop, lean guidingly to the church and make the most wonderful shadows.
My warm regards,

Another great image!

A well composed shot of this churchyard scene. I like the way the sidelighting highlights the side of the church and the gravestones. The image is brilliantly composed, with the ancient graveyard in the FG, acting neatly to balance and enhance. Beautiful rich colours and exquisite sharpness bringing out the détails of the scene. Very well done.

hello Brian, a nice shot in the graveyard. Glorious histories lies down under the earth. Great presentation with the beautiful building at background. The last light of the sun made the atmosphere moody one. Very well done. Tfs.

The golden light is beautiful, the composition perfect. You managed to have a good exposure, so the gravestones in the foreground are not in the shadow and we can read them.
A very nice picture!

I wonder if Gwladys died of a broken heart? She passed away little more than a year after David, presumably her husband? Cemeteries are full of intriguing stories such as this on the headstones, but my favourite epitaph has to be "I told you I was sick. B*stards!" I love the sidelight here catching the left part of the tombstones as well as the superb sharpness, saturation and warm cold color contrast between the red roof and blue sky. Tfs!

Hello Brian - Again you have capitalised on the sunset light and the shot you have produced is beautiful. The gravestones, with the lovely side-light lead neatly across the frame to the warmly lit church, an atmosphere of peaceful serenity. Nicely done! Warm regards Rosemary

I was about to critique your photo of the awesome cliffs...but THEN i quickly noticed this one...and you know its hard for me to resist tombstones and graveyards!
lovely photo because of the angle, pov, subjects and of course the sweet orange light.
its a perfect graveyard when the tombstones are all crooked like this!
enjoy your weekend
