Photographer's Note

The village of Alfriston sits on the banks of the Cuckmere River in East Sussex, England. Here you can see the 14th century church of St Andrew (known as the Cathedral of the South Downs) and the Clergy House, which dates from the same time. The latter is a rare example of a Wealden "Hall House" and was the first building to be acquired by the English National Trust in 1896.
