Photographer's Note

What was once the Teesdale Boulevard, I see its now the Council of Europe Boulevard, ( who thinks of these names ?!) crosses the river on this bridge, known as Princess of Wales Bridge.

This, and the Infinity Bridge behind it, are spanning the River Tees, the flow of which is being restrained by the Tees Barrage in the far distance.

This barrage has created a permanent high water level on what was 11 miles of tidal river, as far as the town of Yarm.

The Barrage at the time of its build was the biggest civil engineering project in England.

Most of the development in this photo was the outcome, amongst much else, of Margeret Thatcher's Walk in the Wilderness.

Location of P.O.V. here.
It is interesting to see the satellite images were taken when the Infinity Bridge was in build , although Street View shows it complete.
