Yesterday we visited the Meadows in Tavistock where there was a huge re enactment of troops and personel of the American army arriving 70 years ago in WW 2.It was difficult to get photos without the inclusion of bystanders. This one has been cropped heavily on the left.
It was an excellent display, right down to the hairdressers where the ladies all sported a unique style. One which I can remember my own mother having.

I love this sort of re-enactment event - they can not only be very interesting but I think they cab also be good photographic subjects. The problem with photographing people generally, of course, is that there now seems to be a horrid "fear culture" and anyone using a camera in public is looked upon as either a terrorist or a paedophile. It isn't nice at all. But at an event such as this, I think these people are "fair game" for the camera - and they probably really enjoy having their photographs taken too. All good publicity for them, I suppose.
But, yes, I know, taking a picture like this can be very difficult as there are so many other onlookers. Sometimes I find that it is often best to arrive at the event very early before the crowds arrive, or else wait until later, by which time the crowds have reduced a bit. So you have done well in this case to avoid any other distracting people!
And this is a jolly clear and sharp picture too with good details of this little group of soldiers around their truck. Good lighting and colours, a nice relaxed atmosphere, perfect exposure and stunning details and sharpness.

I like this kind of capture, when we have to wait and wait for people to go and then, sometimes, your subject just goes
Good composition, it reminds me of old WW2 films

They are wearing old style uniform. And old style jeep was parking on the lawn...It's a live history lesson.
PS: It's wonderful that you attended a Diana Ross' concert in Ephesus. I wish I had this kind of rare opportunity when I was there.

I love photos of vehicles and the older, the better! You did a good job eliminating the crowds. I sympathize with you, every time I go to the Pittsburgh Auto Show, we have crowds clambering over the cars. I keep thinking, they should have certain hours reserved for photographers; I'm willing to pay extra for the privilege of taking pictures in peace.

Never mind the cropping, you finally got the POV you wanted and which is btw excellent. Good to remember what happened decades ago, and photographs can help to do so.
As soon as I will upload more interior shots of temples in Laos I will add some more explanations what I will show.
