On a clear day Lundy Island can be seen from the spectacular look out at Hartland Point.
The Hartland Peninsula is in an area of outstanding natural beauty with breathtaking coastal scenery, wonderful cliff top walks and beautiful secluded beaches. Many people come to the Hartland Peninsula in North Devon AONB to enjoy the beaches and dynamic coastline, while others wish to discover the peace and tranquillity of the countryside.
The coastline of this part of north Devon is a haven to wildlife, with rich communities of cliff top grassland and heathland, semi-natuural woodlands and a wide variety of animal life including breeding peregrine and raven. Geologically, the coastline shows terrific exposures through Upper Carboniferous rocks, including some dramatic large-scale folding.

Great capture, good POV and great detail in the rock formation with the light house just edging out of the cliff.

Good view of the lighthouse peeking from behind that jagged ridge. Well taken shot from your high POV to show the out of focus island on the horizon in the distance. Excellent detailing on the textures of the rock, Nice one thanks for sharing.

nice shot on a clear day, with Lundy so beautifully visible as is the lighthouse. Is the first day it has been seen since just before Christmas I wonder! Lovely sense of scale and distance with amazing fg texturing. Excellent shot!

this destination seems to be popular, but it is understandable. The lighthouse is located very dramatically right on the edge of the cliff and its white color contrasts with the rocks. Good POV which allows wider view. The composition includes horizon and some sky and a tiny island in the far far distance. I like it.
Thanks for sharing.

Hello Les - I seem to remember taking a boat trip around Lundy Island when I was a child but this view I most certainly remember. It was pouring with rain and windy (does that sound familiar?) Beautiful shot of the wild coastline and another good memory jogger! Warm regards Rosemary

Wow what a wild and woolly place. I feel like I could be blown off the cliff at any moment, how brave you were to get so close to the edge! Look at that wild sea, I just love the untamed ruggedness of this place, the craggy cliffs and of course the lighthouse are beautifully defined. Magical place, well done.
Warmest wishes to you and dear G, I hope you're keeping safe

Fine composition with Hartland Point's craggy geology dominant, then the lighthouse on the end, and a glimpse of Lundy Island on the horizon.
Thanks for sharing,

Am I mistaken, or aren't lighthouses usually built on the top of a cliff?
This white lighthouse stands out strongly against the surrounding arid rocky landscape.
Wonderful rough coastline.
Best regards, Paul

Just noticed we share same camera, new for me
This capture is what I like of your post, landscapes and besides a lithe lighthouse far, far below
Like the blue so soft in sky and sea, present also in the far away island
Kind regards, enjoy Sunday

cool to see the lighthouse along the bottom too.
these are truly beautiful places, just as you've photographed it here.
