Photographer's Note
This is a view of the beautiful rolling countryside from Hound Tor on Dartmoor, in Devon. The impressive granite outcrop, of which this is just a part, takes its name from a legend that the rock was formed by some witches who turned the hound to stone. It is also said to have been the inspiration for Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's book, "The Hound of the Baskervilles". The area is steeped in mystery, ghosts and legends. Here too are the ruins of a Stone Age dwelling.
