We were leaving Dartmoor at dusk and were rewarded with an unusual sunset, making it look quite eerie.

Wow what a sky, love the cloud formations coming towards us.
The road to the right and fading in the distance is great, and the wee track to the left side begs for exploring, the sign however distracts a bit, realise it was a difficult Pov with the ground going away steeply, pity as a beautiful moody sunset image.
Hope you are weathering these storms ok.

One of the best cloudscapes i've seen. This really works because the focus is on the amazing clouds and nothing distracts from that. But you can still see some good detail on the ground with an amazing 3d feel to it. The house really gives the whole thing a sense of scale. Brilliant shot, Tfs.

This is a remarkable picture! And even more remarkable that it's a sunset picture and not one of yours from 4 a.m.!
Now, as soon as I saw this, I thought this might be what they call a "Mackerel Sky" and I think I was right - have a look at this.
The cloud formations and the light on them are absolutely stunning. But we see the bright sky and yet you have also managed to let us see lots of detail in the much darker ground beneath your feet - many would have taken this picture and the ground would have been totally black. But, rather worryingly, it appears as though there is a big crevasse or hole lying just in front of you!
A superbly well taken photograph with amazing light and an amazing feat of nature. Lovely colours, perfect light management and stunning details and clarity.
P.S. You seem to be doing very well with that Fuji camera. Do you like it? And has the rubber band you used to hold in the batteries of your dear old Minolta eventually given up the ghost? :o)
