Hello Leslie - I was just thinking this morning that autumn is past and we should soon be seeing winter shots from the northern hemisphere. It is uncomfortably hot here and your beautifully layered winter shot looks so inviting. The cool colours, so subtle and delicate lit with the soft winter sun are glorious. The mist lying in the valley and the stark leafless trees perfect. Oh I do miss English winters! I'm sure you will say I am mad but relentless heat is no picnic either. Hope you have plenty of wood piled up for a log fire. Have a great weekend. Rosemary

I don't like snow , and i don't hope to see it in my region . But I must admit that this weather provides splendid subjects for the photographer . Like this beautiful snowy landscape , with the slight mist in the valley in the BG .

Such a fantastic winter scene! Autumn seems to have come and gone so quickly, I barely captured any of it and sure enough its time for the winter shots to start surfacing...Your point of view and framing is spot on here, great composition, depth, sharpness and the lighting is really superb. Nice wintry landscape Leslie. I like the mist, the soft light, the gentle curves. A pleasing detail of the composition for me: the tree down slope at left that sort of balances the main one in the foreground. I must say that I'm not looking forward for the hard core of winter; it can be quite wild here.

Hi Leslie.
What a wonderful shot. You got a perfect exposure of this incredible winter scene, from an elevated vantage point that allowed you to look down on the mist in the valley. I like the pale light and the subtle shadows it casts, and the arrangement of the lines made by the fences in the fields. The arrangement of the trees in the foreground is excellent, with the largest in the corner balancing out the picture nicely.

Superb! The quality of the light is amazing and works so well on the rolling landscape. The hedges add a lovely pattern and the bare trees are super. You chose a very good crop. What a beautiful part of the UK.

Good Morning Les,

This scene almost mimics what is happening outside my window at the moment, except here, the snow is still swirling!
This is utterly beautiful. The snow covering is thin enough to let the details of walls, shrubs and trees show through, giving the effect of a pencil drawing. The distant slope of the hill gives a great thirds dividing line. Fine composition.

Another great shot of this photogenic location, an immense shot Les. The rising mist is the distant is lovely and adds to the tranquility of this wonderful scene, The contrast works fine, the dark foreground and not entirely silhouetted trees are perfect to my eye, spot on. Beautiful light and colours, layering on the slopes is so mesmerising, reminiscent of the layers of stained-glass. A pleasure to view, brilliant capture. Congrats

Again, this is one of the most gorgeous and breathtaking winter scape I've ever seen.
The POV is amazing, love those vast lands covered in white and mist, the cascading lines, the silhouette of the trees and the hues of winter colors is simply beautiful! Great capture! Well framed and composed! TFS! a truly inspiring photograph!

I have enough of the cold winterdays but this view shows well the beauty of winter landschapes. I love the way the light falls into the hills creating a very 'soft' feeling.
