While sheltering from the rain and having a hot tea to warm up, I saw this woman on the table facing me and took this picture without being noticed: she should have had a passionate chat with her friend.
Sharpness is not at the top, but 1/20s hand held camera with a 112 mm lens.

An interesting moment you have observed and captured. Like it. An unique composition was achieved from your selected POV and using the b&w presentation.
Have a nice day!

looking at the thumbnail I thought she was talking to a big black Labrador! I was going to say snap! as I have just uploaded a doggie pic. However, even without a dog it's good.I always do enjoy this sort of observational, candid camera shot, as you probably know. It works well in B &W. Sorry I wasn't at this TE meet but I was in Spain. Mind you, I was glad to escape the rain.

old TE style gutsy-compo photo. such a big shade of her friend, covering half of the horizontal cadrage! and the remaining face is not the cutest of all maybe, but still full of strong character.

sharpness is not the key in this type of photo. Its the mood and atmosphere that are much more vital to the viewer, to make the impact that you're looking for.
and that impact certainly comes through so well.
love the light and dark shadow play too.
wicked post, well spotted from far away.

Yes I was at at the wrong angle to see this shot. I just remember them eating a lot and talking in between mouthfuls - they did not shut up the whole time! I wanted to go to the end of their table and take them in profile as they ate but they would have noticed. They looked like real caricatures to me. The lady who is exposed here looks Mrs Brown from the TV programme.

I liked the result, the expression and the words being said by the woman created a curious visual effect. I like the framing and the option for black and white.
