Cropped; converted to sepia; used contrast masking; and added noise to give a grain effect.

Very very classic. the choice of sepia is very apt and the composition is wonderful. The pebbles though are a bit bright and distracting but overall, this is still a very beautiful picture.

Wonderful shot. Great use of sepia; it really ages the photo. Well done.

The sepia works well here, as well as the grain and noise. I also like the composition. Well done!

The old man and his occupation fits perfectly with your choice of sepia and grain (and visa versa :-)
Very well framed and interesting motive asl well Martin!
Find the brightness in the bottom too distracting though, nevertheless a great portrait of this lovely bearded man.

Wonderful composition. And you made a good work on this photo which seems to come from my grandpa's attic.

The posture of the man, the lead-in created by the road, his position in the frame, the sepia colour, the fence and the lane of trees all create a stunning composition - it looks like a relic from the previous century - I just love it!

This is a shot I like, it seems that it's coming from another time. I don't know where it was taken or when , but it's wonderful. It's so peaceful.

There's a man who's lived!
Where in Cumbria?
I moved to Cumbria 3 years after this photo was taken, yet this looks as if it was taken in the 30's!
