A view overlooking Thirlmere in the early hours, this photo was taken on my way to a weekend meeting with some TE friends in & around Keswick.

Hello Wilson,

A finely composed and balanced shot here, the horizon sitting nicely at the junction of the lower and middle thirds and the little cottage or farm outbuilding nicely balanced by the tall fir on the left.

Beautiful lighting on the distant tree-covered hill and lovely reflections on the still water. And the little piece of roadway at the bottom is a nice feature too, leading the eye toward the little building and off into the distance.

A classic shot!

This could right around the corner in my neighbourhood!
And once in a while you come across a lake as calm as this, the perfect mirror for the peaceful surroundings...
A well balanced composition, with the stone cabin by the gravel road as eye-catchers!

This really shows the beauty of the early morning light. The reflections are also lovely and I like the bit of narrow road and the little hut in the corner. The blue in the sky is perfect and very natural. Very well done.

Hello Wilson. I have to say good work in this photo based on the balance between the tree on the left, the roadway and old cabin on the lower right. Take away the cabin and it looks alot like BC scenery. Nice calm on the water too.

The morning's light give a particulary and very pleasant athmospher to this image. Superb place too with beautiful reflections. good balalnce in the composition with the three on the left nad the small way which learn the glance to the stone's house.

Hello Wilson,

A bucolic and serene view in Cumbria! I would love to see the site myself. Unhappily, I will be in London just for a day in August, in advent of boarding a ship in Dover. You must have enjoyed Malgorzata very much, as we did her visit to the Washington Metro Area (Charlottesville, Fredericksburg in Virginia, and Washington, DC). I wish I could have been there. Did you actually organize a TE-meeting with Tyro, Ann, Martin, and Malgorzata?

It's been 10 years since I've been to the Lake District and I'm happy to see it remains untouched and beautiful as always. Love the symmetry of the reflections here. The path guides the eye nicely around the frame and the little stone house provides a nice point of interest too. Hope you had fun at the TE, and congrats on a beautiful photo.

A very nice and well-balanced composition. I could really feel what a pleasant view this must have been this particular morning. The lighting was good but perhaps not perfect. If I were you I would return to a place like this to see if it would be possible to take an even better photo. TFS and have a nice Sunday!

Magnificent view under a subtle light, colours and sharpness are fine.
Maybe aiming just a little more on the right, placing the small house a little away from the edge of the picture could have been an option?

Lovely landscape as only Cumbria can offer. The reflection is undoubtedly the strongest point, but I think you could brighten it a bit in PP. The composition is well thought with the pine tree at the left and the small house to the right.

Great clarity of these natural and true colors. I like the way you framed the curve of the road leading down to the mossy building, and drawing the eye to the reflection. The whispy clouds add depth to the sky.

The reflections on the water are assets to the composition. The distance between the two shores is giving depth to the scene. The point of view is showing the details and colors of the mountain. Have a nice day.
