Photographer's Note
Hello Everyone,
The Lake District has been the inspirations for many poets and when you experience its many moods, it is not surprising.
When you see the mist rising from the water and battling for supremacy over the awakening sun, it is easy to imagine how poets would have been inspired to record it in verse.
This poetic spot was on the edge of the River Derwent as it flows towards Keswick. I really liked how the tree was just beginning to light up with the early morning sunshine.
Many thanks for stopping by, Bev :-)

Hello Bev,
The mist and morning light brings a mystic atmosphere to the scene. The point of view and the placing of the trees gives the image depth. I like the big swirling cloud.

Hello Beverley
Yes indeed, a shot quite in the mood for romantic poetry !
Scenery half hidden in the mist though mildly lit by the sun passing through the clouds spread in the blue sky
Well done, best regards

Ciao Beverley
ottima composizione quella do oggi.
Ciao e buona giornata

Hello Bev,
Gosh, you old romantic, you! :o) But I have to agree with you. This might not be the sort of scene which would make me sit down with pen and paper and write some screeds of iambic pentameter, but it would certainly make me grab my camera. And if I could end up with a picture like this, I should be more than happy!
As you say (and as, I believe, with all good photographs) it is the wonderful light which really makes this one so very special.
The early morning warm, low angle light coming in from the right illuminates the fence, the trunk and branches of the near tree and the trees on the left as it tries to penetrate the mist hanging above the river.
Lovely pastel shades, gorgeous light, perfect exposure and excellent details and sharpness.
A Real Stunner!
Kind Regards,
John.

Hello Bev - I do like this; so atmospheric with the mist rising from the river and the light just touching the tree and fence. The upper sky is blue so I can imagine that before long the sun will burn off the mist and a perfect January day will emerge. Marvellous shot which evokes pleasant memories and a yearning for home! Warm regards Rosemary

Hi Bev
now this is special. I love the composition it is so inspired, but it is the light and atmosphere it creates that does it for me. A beautiful and wonderful view of England's green and pleasant land, and proof that winter can be magical too!

Good evening Beverly,
Managed here to part different colors on several picture squares: blue and green, grey and sky-light-blue atop.
The big tree employ all of the colors mentioned, on image space.
The mist provide a winter ambiance on the nice location.
An adorable choise of POV. Love it a lot.
Regards,
Ike

Hello Bev
Well, you've already said everything I had in mind! Love the effects of the mist and the early sun; the tree and fence create an interesting diagonal across the frame. A very pleasing photograph.

Hello Beverley,
Quite different one from your previous entries here at TE. The major difference in my opinios is that it has the taste of an oil canvas !
Nice soft colors and perfect layout.

Hello Beverley,
The light and colours and excellently capured mist make this a memorable photo. I also enjoy the view of the old fence and the tracks of wheels going across the very green grass. It must have been a magic moment for you to witness this.
Kind regards,

Hi Bev,
This is moody post taken with a superb light management and great saturation of colors. Like the way how you built the composition and frame the tree in the centre. Well done. TFS.

Hi Bev,
The main motive here is clearly the trees and the fence (and maybe the wheel tracks) in the foreground. These parts could be parts of a painting more than a photo. The hazy background further adds to this impression. This is a very artistic capture with very pleasant colours and composition!
Kind regards

Hello dear Bev
Even when I saw this in the thumbnail, I thought, what a romantic scene. And upon enlarging it, looking at it more, and reading your note; I see you think the same thing. The mist has been handled beautifully and is so suggestive. The image is straight out of one of those romantic English novels and makes one stand back in silence and awe of nature. What a moment you have captured.
Thanks for sharing, and a happy Friday to you

Hello Beverley,
The mist gives a lot of charm to this landscape, which reminds me of the Marais Poitevin Poitou-Charentes in France. I like the framing, trees, meadows, moisture. Excellent quality. Bravo.
Have a nice evening

Hello dear Beverley,
What a spectacular shot, maybe the single most compelling shot in your rich gallery. I can see Wordsworth musing, “...I wander’d lonely as a cloud.”
The tranquil beauty must be little changed in 200 years. Although my favorite lines by the great poet, to no one's surprise,
"Near me hung Trinity's loquacious clock,
Who never let the quarters, night or day,
Slip by him unproclaimed, and told the hours
Twice over with a male and female voice.
Her pealing organ was my neighbour too;
And from my pillow, looking forth by light
Of moon or favouring stars, I could behold
The antechapel where the statue stood Of Newton with his prism and silent face,
The marble index of a mind for ever
Voyaging through strange seas of Thought, alone"
Warm regards, Beverley,
Bulent

Hi Beverley!
Good one, with this morning light and mist! The tree and fence make a very good foreground. I really like to see the fields in the morning in the early winter - I just find it difficult to get up so early:)! But it was surely worth the effort - it's a good shot!

Hi Beverley. You have regaled us not only with a scene full of subtle beauty but also with a fine description.Only England can give us something so sweet. Mind you, it takes a fine photographer to catch all the nuances. Best wishes. Klaudio.

Hi Bev,
I know virtually nothing about poetry, but I can certainly understand how this setting would be inspiring...simply beautiful! This would have been a great shot regardless, but your timing to capture the mist just takes it to another level. This image just exudes serenity, and the soft sunlight adding a little touch of warm glow on the tree trunk is what sets the tone and atmosphere. This is really a lovely arrangement, brilliantly composed and presented. Thanks for sharing the moment. Have a great week ahead.
All the best,
Jason
