Photographer's Note
Good Morning Everyone,
This shot was taken a few minutes before my previous one. It shows the bridge taking the footpath from Portinscale to Keswick, across the River Derwent.
The mist was swirling at a low level, making the river almost invisible but, with the sunlight above, it created a most unusual, almost eerie atmosphere.
Many thanks for stopping by.
Have a good week, Bev :-)

Hello Bev,
A fine long perspective along the bridge with the misty landscape making an excellent backdrop. I like the soft light and colours. Also, the repeating motifs offered by the railing and the suspension wires. Have a pleasant day.

Good morning Bev,
Another fabulous image from a misty morning! And, as you say, very eerie, full of eeriness, but not a single eyrie in sight! Mmmm. Enough.
Once again, your compositional skills have come to the fore and you have used the lines of the bridge and its suspension cables perfectly to "draw" the viewer into the frame - even down to the rather enticing little curve in the path at the distant end of the bridge - the path and the fence just disappear out of view and we're wondering quite what is round there in the distance!
And all against a misty background through which we can still see trees and hills and some lovely clear blue sky above. The sunlight on the distant support of the bridge gives a promise of a brighter day and disappearing mist. Was it a much clearer and sunnier day later on?
Lovely soft colours and lighting, perfect exposure and excellent depth of field and sharpness.
Excellent!
Kind Regards,
John.

Hi Bev
lovely shot this. A shot that entices us irresistibly and is so effective at making us wonder what lies beyond. The light and mist add atmosphere and your execution here is just perfect.
Check out the lyrics to the song "Bridge Across Forever" by the group Transatlantic they sprang into my mind when looking at this wonderful image.
Have a great week - Brian.

Una bella composizione nella quale hai fatto buon uso del tele che, comprimendo i piani ha fatto sì che le montagne sembrano più vicine al ponte.
Ottima la composizione che porta l'occhio a seguire il percorso fino alla curva.
Complimenti

Hello Beverley ,
Splendid perspective on the bridge . Great effect of the mist . We can guess the mountain in the BG.

Bonjour Beverly,
Le regard suit naturellement le tablier du pont dans l'image, ce qui lui donne beaucoup de profondeur.Le brouillard derrière apporte une touche dramatique à l'ensemble. une belle construction d'image.

Hello Bev
Nice composition with the lines leading us down that path to the mist. Mist in the BG yet still well exposed in the foreground. I really like the curve of the suspension cable my eye keeps being drawn to it and moving from front to back of the image.
TFS - have a good day.

Hi Beverly,
I like how you composed you shot, off-center. The mist creates a peculiar mood indeed. As far as I'm concerned, I think I would have tried to lower myself to make the top of the pillar stand out a little more. Also I wouldn't mind an extra bit of contrast. What do you think?

Hello Bev - A strong composition with the bridge making a super structure and lead into the shot. Quite remarkable how it contrasts with the soft landscape beyond. You've managed to balance the shot very well creating a pleasant and seamless whole. I love he soft light and the gentle colour palette. From a very hot Windhoek I send you best regards Rosemary

Hello Beverley,
This is a very pleasing image. The curving lines of the bridge and the suspension cables are the elements that make this image pleasing. I really like how all the lines lead my eyes through the photo. The mist blurring the backdrop adds again to the pleasing nature of the image. A well conceived and executed shot.
Kind regards,
Christian

Ciao Beverley
immagine ben composta, la parte sinistra del ponte divide la foto e ci guida lo sguardo verso il centro, ottimo il gioco di linee verticali. La nebbia crea un'atmosfera surreale molto interessante.

Hello Beverley. Blue sky and ground fog - which is always an interesting combination. Everything is visible in the foreground, while the background disappears. Well seen and presented.

Hello Beverley,
Very good point of view: the diagonal lines
of the bridge creates a nice depth in the
picture. The little piece fence on the
background makes the viewer curious. Light
management and the composition are also
very good.
Friendly regards,

Hi Bev,
This is a very beautiful composition and this is indeed an illustration for the mathematical formulas that describes the curves for suspension bridges. This picture really shows the beauty of mathematics!
Kind regards

Hello Bev,
Splendid graphism of the brightly illuminated fg against the darker bg. The mini Golden Gate style of suspension bridge adds superb lead in lines & perspective. Good sharpness & the fog adds mood & atmosphere. Nice warm cold colour contrasts too. Tfs!

Hi Bev
looky what we have here!
I can't resist bridges, they are excellent subject to photograph.
for obvious reasons I like the depth and the twist at the end.
the mist provides that mysterious mood which is transferred from your lens to the viewer - really important for this shot, even more so when you scroll down and eliminate the skyline from the shot.
cool one!
cheers

Hello Bev,
Great atmosphere in this one. When I see beautiful scenes such as this I either do not have my camera or in a car and unable to stop. The bridge makes a very good lead in to the picture. The misty colours and shapes are wonderful.
Best wishes, Ann

Hi Bev,
What a brilliant composition, even though this appears to be a somewhat small bridge, you have given it the majesty of the worlds most iconic bridges such as the golden gate. In fact, that is exactly what sprang to mind when I seen the thumbnail. The mist adds a classic extra element to the shot too. Really beautifully seen and captured.
All the best

Hello Bev,
A bridge leading to a mysterious landscape.
The small fence at the end of the bridge and the curve in the path make us curious about what lies beyond.
Very well composed.

Hello Beverly,
this picture really deserves attention, mostly due to the amazing POV you chose. It allows great perspective and depth. The composition is masterly done, with prefect sharpness on the bridge and misty background making the subject even more outlined. Nice light and colors.
Well done
Regards
Kamila
