There is so much to see in the exhibition tent at an agricultural show. This tent at an agricultural show held by a small village between Penrith and Carlisle was no exception. Villagers and people from further afield are invited to exhibit all manner of home grown and hand made items, including photographs and artwork. Children take part too. Here are some entries in the "Open Exhibition" catalogue:
Pot plant in flower
A vase of mixed flowers
A vase of herbaceous perennials
A bunch of mixed herbs
A collection of different kinds of fruit displayed on one plate
Five brown or tinted eggs
Four cheese oven scones
Fatless sponge cake
An Apple Plate Cake
A jar of chutney
A jar of blackcurrant jam
A bottle of home made red wine
A bottle of homemade fruit liqueur....
Phew! all this handywork makes me feel quite inadequate.
I have added more photos in workshop.

Well, I wonder how those onions are judged? -Thanks for those extra WS photos! You've captured something quintessentially English, I think (staple scenes in umpty English films and TV shows), which lives on over here too, thanks to the Anglo part of our heritage. I'm a sucker for shows like this, especially the home made pastries, chutneys, cakes and jams. Did you exhibit a photo or two?

This is a very intmeresting picture, so very British, in my humble opinion. The concentrated looks here, on what I assume are real experts, is well captured. I get a feeling that the background person is waiting for the judgement of these experts.

nice the snapshot from the 'open exhibition' with a lot of items to are included in the catalogue. The interest of the couple about the apples and the others on the table makes the image more eective.
