Good Morning Everyone,
Have you ever seen a building and immediately recognised a scenario for it. Well, this is one such house. It is definitely the house in the woods, visited by Hansel and Gretel. It certainly looks good enough to eat! The walls are made of icing sugar and the windows pinwheel biscuits.
Seriously, it is a house on the outskirts of Kirkby Lonsdale. We passed it in the car and I asked my husband to stop, whilst I rushed back with my camera. I was hoping someone would come out and tell me about the house but, sadly, that didn't happen. So, I can't tell you anything about the house, except it attracted my attention.
Have a great day, Bev :-)

A quaint little cottage with unusual rounded windows.
Caught it well with good light. Could imagine it would be quite dark in the summer when the trees are full of leaves. Well spotted.

Nice capture of this old house in woods.
Good pov and layout. Interesting notes.
TFS and best regards

You have a very vivid imagination! But, I can certainly see why you stopped in your tracks to take a picture. The round windows on the upper floor give it the appearance of a face. Love that stonework and the shadow play occasioned by the adjacent trees. Well framed and excellent technical presentation.

The way this house seems hidden in a forest looking rather scruffy made me think of a witch's den even before reading your note. Maybe you were just as lucky that the witch didn't come out to greet you. You made a good observation of this rather strange house and you used the trees nicely as natural frames.

Elle est très à l'abri des curieux et ce doit être encore pire en été avec des feuilles aux arbres.Il y a beaucoup de débroussaillage à faire pour rendre le terrain présentable.Mais quelle belle lumière sur la pierre grise.

Hello Beverley ,
Très belle maison de pierre , un peu mystérieuse , dans son décor forestier . Très bien cadrée avec le tronc au premeir plan à gauche ;

This is indeed a charming little house that caught your attention and you made a beautiful picture out of it. The house is in excellent contrast with the surrounding vegetation which, along with the sky showing through provides lovely tonal variety. The tree in the foreground is a very good anchor. Liked your note too :-).
Thanks for sharing and have a great new day.

An attractive house. With these two round windows above the door, I get a strong feeling of a face looking at me. Maybe the witch´s soul has taken over the house itself. A very fine observation.

Ciao Cara Beverley
Ciao e buona serata

Yes, this is indeed a pretty little (or not so little) house though my first impression is certainly not that I should wish to eat it.
Nice to see that Google's little yellow man has ventured olong this same road too - presumably in the summer when the garden looked a lot tidier and lusher than it does in your photograph.
A fine photograph nonetheless (being on holday you wouldn't have wished to offer to do some gardening too) with some lovely light and fine natural colours.

Good evening Beverly,
Looks as a fairly good renovated house within the woods, glasses on windows, and a new door - assuming someone live there.
Not an easy task to find good POV through the grove, but you found it and well taken lit scenery.
Charming posted photo,

I see what you mean about this place, it does look very fairytale, and I can definitely see a face on this building too! I am glad you went back to photograph it, because you found a perfect moment, those shadows being thrown across are perfect and add a nice touch of drama, fairytale drama, to the whole result. Nice one!

Much like Craig did with his most recent addition, leaving the restaurant to grab a quick picture...you've proven the same photographers mindset and recognition of the surroundings to seize an opportunity. That alone is worthy of admiration, but you've also come up with a lovely and imaginative image. I see that it's actually stone and glass, but I much prefer your take on the house...a tasty treat in the middle of the woods. Yummy! :) I'd say this would be sufficient to satisfy my sweet tooth for a while!
As it were, it's just as enjoyable to look upon and imagine what stories this old house might tell. Although it appears nature is trying to reclaim it as one of her own, it still stands strong amongst the trees and foliage. Very nicely composed to project that visual, but more importantly, great observation and result! Enjoy the new day ahead. All the best.

Watching the house I remember Hansel and Gretel and then reading the note found you have same idea, lol
Quite charming capture of the tyni house well surrounded by green vegetation
Like the frame given by the trees at the sides
Congrats for the photo and for having a husband stopping and waiting , not easy at all

You have a very active imagination and that's great. I'd imagine this scene would look more surreal late evening with lots of shadows. Anyway good framing of the house through the trees with natural looking colour and saturation. Have a nice weekend!

this would be a ideal front cover for a new Black Sabbath album, I´ll tell Ozzy as soon as possibly:) I guess it could be quite eerie here at dusk..I have no idea about the history of the house but i like it. Solid stone house, built to last for centuries. Captured from a good angle with the trees as a natural frame, perfect!

Hello Bev - A dear little cottage that really does make one think of fairy tales. I think it belongs to the 3 bears; I can smell the porridge on the stove.
I like the location, imagine getting up each day and seeing the changes of the seasons and hearing the birds in the trees.

what a nice idea to present this small house so beautifully captured. The light is really wonderful. It could have played a role in a fairytale. My compliments!
