Good Morning Everyone,
After spending a few days with friends, it is good to be back and spend time and experiences with my TE friends.
Here you see a winter tree revelling in the spring sunshine.
Have you ever seen a more 'wizardy' looking tree than this one! Its long, outstretched branches resemble the thin, gnarled limbs of a wizard, as he casts a spell towards the sheep and the figures in the field.
The shadows could almost be the travelling spell!
Can you tell I loved to make up stories for my children!!
Have a lovely, imaginative day, yourself, Bev :-)

Bonjour, chère Bev,
J'apprécie beaucoup cette composition sachant utiliser l'ombre portée par l'arbre venant éclabousser avec joliesse la pâture.
Image bucolique très réussie.

The wizard tree basks in the glorious spring sunshine while we remain under the spell of this captivating image.
Lovely English countryside. Brilliant pov and composition as always.
Thanks for sharing and have a great day.

Good morning Beverly,
It doe's look as spring is just around the corner, the POV chosen plays well with the naked branchs as shades, added depth to the whole.
Sure those sheeps enjoy the sunny day on the pasture.
Have a nice new week,

The shadow of the tree is mesmerising. So too the branches.
Great eye you have!

une très belle composition! L'effet produit par l'arbre est aussi intéressant avec ses branches qui se dessinent sur le ciel que par son ombre portée. C'est très bien vu.

I love the long and strong shadow cast by the tree Bev and I can see where your 'flight of fancy' comes from.
I wonder if you have an ancient memory that has come down through the ages as trees were often considered to possess magical properties and many stories, both past and present, gives trees personalities.
A lovely countryside shot with good strong contrasts and textural details.
Have a good week

so nice to see spring sunshine, it lifts the spirit. Gee - I can remember these stories of trees coming to life and I still look at some of the old gnarled ones to try and make out faces and limbs. An imaginative and wonderful capture.
Have a good week - B.

Ciao cara Beverley
mi piace molto il bel gioco di luci e di ombre che ha grande evidenza in questa foto e che contrasta con la quiete del paesaggio.
Uno scenario dominato dal tono bruno della vegetazione con ampio sviluppo sia in verticale che in orizzontale.
Ciao e buona settimana

You obviously have a very vivid imagination, but I can perfectly see what you mean. I especially like the long, long shadow pointing towards the sheep. A very successful presentation.
holmertz (39513) 2014-03-24 4:53
This is a very nice photo with a good atmosphere of spring. The sheep are grazing happily, unaware of the possible dangers posed by the branches and shadows. Personally I enjoy the same branches and shadows for the depth they provide to the composition and the diagonals that create a certain dynamism to the view.

J'aime beaucoup cette composition.J'aime l'ombre de l'arbre qui se prolonge sur le sol et serpente entre les moutons qui broutent cette herbe fraîche printanière.

You use the tree as frame, but also as long shadow, this create depth and perspective.
Sharpness and clarity are very pleasant.
Excellent captured, nice presentation.
Very well done, TFS.
Have a nice workweek,

Terrific tree - terrific photo. I love the angle you've used and how it makes the branches appear to reach out forever towards the sheep and the distance. Great light management too, and you've caught the sky in an interesting moment. Lovely!
All the best,
mkamionka (30072) 2014-03-24 7:41
indeed the two tree branches look quite like two arms of a giant. Who will be the target? Sheep or the group of people?...
Excellent composition with the nice play of the tree branches and their shadow.
Very well seen and captured,

A strong pattern from the shadows and the branches above, working in opposite directions. A pleasant and peaceful view.

Hey great! It looks like an Ent from the Movie "Lord of the rings" :D I like the shadow from the tree(Ent) on the grass, it triggers the imagination. It is also a peaceful and pleasant mood in this scene. Sunday, nice weather and good time for a stroll, lovely!

The Wizard tree indeed Bev,
Yes would make a great photo for a book cover for your first children's book, he he.
Great spindle shadows from the tree, (our next Camera club competition theme is Shadows)
Well spotted, managed and presented.

Very beautiful and pleasant-looking picture!
Sharpness, colors, slim black borders and, above all, exposure, chosen pov and composition are all excellent photo qualities that I truly enjoyed!
The details of that tree and its shadow were so well seen by you and then you did such a good photo job to present it to all of us in this attractive way!
TFS - congrats,
rychem (21677) 2014-03-25 10:07
It is really an interesting tree with great graphism of branches and their shadows, very well spotted and captured

Happy to have you back amongst our ranks! :) I think I was forever scarred in my youth from the movie Poltergeist, I always see long barren branches and shadows like this as arms reaching out to snatch a child!? :o
You've put this play of light and shade to splendid use, I really do enjoy this perspective and contrast...and frankly, how could a bright, sun filled day be anything but pleasant? :) The trunk shadow makes for a terrific lead-in, and you can never go wrong with the blue/green color combo's.
It all looks and feels airy, cheerful and fun...especially when you get to use your imagination! Enjoy the new day. All the best.
tyro (19766) 2014-03-26 1:25
How clever of you not to have included your own shadow in this photograph! That must have been quite a feat.
Glorious spring sunshine and lovely colours remind us that, once again, Nature comes out triumphant after the awful weather which has affected England this past winter. A well composed shot with glorious light and colours, perfect exposure and exquisite details and sharpness.
mesutilgim (82284) 2014-03-26 3:07
Nice capture withe perfect pov. The majestic tree with it's deep shadows creates a perfect effect.

subhendu_bagchi (25503) 2014-03-27 1:15
wow! This is beautiful. The bright light made your shot so charming and lively. Great graphical impact created by the branches of the tree at left. Excellent clarity and fine colours. Superb composition in vertical. Tfs & Namaste.

Hi Bev, great photograph of this interesting composition with the shadow of the tree, very well captured in this interesting picture with very good sharpness, depth, good light and color. Very good and interesting job well done, congratulations my friend. Thanks for sharing this beautiful work.
Good night and happy weekend.
Warm greetings from southern Spain.
ourania (29387) 2014-04-03 8:50
a wonderful composition, solidified by the trunk at the side of the frame, the scene is delightfully deep and playful. I like very much the perspectives of the hanging branches and the shadows, they all seem to meet in the background, where they surround the people and the sheep. I love your interpretation of this scene and the story you have started for the viewer. Textures and colours are marvellous, the light is pleasant and has helped you realize your composition really effectively. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a great evening,
adores (35679) 2014-04-23 16:25
I like this composition a lot. Original and well thought, I specially like the long shadow that almost seem to touch the trees in background. A good rural scene to welcome Spring!
Curious_Eye (1000) 2014-06-03 22:17
Thank you for recently stopping by at my gallery. I like the way you execute the rule of thirds in this shot, both on the horizontal and the vertical plane. Having established a strong composition, you then skilfully use the shadow for us to appreciate the DOF. The title moves us back to the foreground for a playful exploration of the details. You are right, a wizard tree for sure and you did great with this image!
